Job Description:
He will be responsible for preparation of procedures, assist in adoption and implementation of the procedures by operating departments, coordinating audits and obtaining certification to international quality standards such as ISO 9000 , and well as OHSAS standards. He will also be responsible for all Health Safety and Environmental aspects, including framing a policy, formulating and implementing safety manuals and work procedures
In addition, depending on incumbents experience and qualifications, he can given be responsibility for heading the welding department, which will be responsible for assistance in procurement / hire of appropriate welding equipment and consumables, development of procedures where required, welder qualifications.
He can also be made overall responsible for the QA / QC department for all project specific QA / QC matters.
Job Profile:
Main Tasks:
• Preparation of Departmental Activity Procedures and obtaining certification for all relevant ISO and OHSAS standards.
• Responsible for all HSE related matters for Operation of the HLPV.
Other roles:
• Heading welding engineering , including welding equipment selection, welding procedure qualification and welder qualification
• Heading project QA / QC functions
Qualifications & Experience required:
Engineering Graduate in Metallurgical / Mechanical Engineering with additional qualifications in Industrial Safety.
10 -15 years experience in Quality Systems or Industrial HSE Management. Exposure to Welding Engineering,
Project QA / QC will be an advantage.
Key Deliverables:
• Develop Departmental Activity Procedures for the Quality Systems and OHSAS
• Obtain Certification for ISO 9000 , OHSAS
• Prepare HSE manuals and safety procedures
• Draw up specification of welding equipment and document processes
• Develop WPS /PQRs appropriate
• Set up system for welder qualification on board in simulated conditions
