| Purpose:
Provides network support to users (internal and/or external) and ensures high availability and optimal use of network.
Principal Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
•Monitors and troubleshoots network performance and make required improvement to ensure high availability and optimal use of network
•Evaluates and recommends new/upgrade of software and hardware for the efficient operation of network (LAN,WAN)
•Forecasts and monitors network capacity against projected growth and recommends solutions
•Develops security and control procedures for network including recovery and backup procedures
•Tests and installs software products and tools, and ensures the effective implementation including pilots and resolution of critical problems
•Understands the interdependencies of the services (application, system, network and database) and is able to pin-point problem area accurately to improve overall efficiency
•Develops implementation plan for acquired products/equipment for the network
•Ensures updated documentation of work
•Creates and maintains effective file server structure as well as manages network and local printers print jobs
•Provides technical guidance to junior colleagues in their work
•Provides consultancy to support external projects relating network and LAN/WAN services
•Keeps abreast of technological advancement, emerging standards and new software or hardware solutions that may affect decisions on software product/tool enhancement or acquisition
•Any other duties as and when assigned.

| Skills: |
•Experience in LAN/WAN administration and/or applications development
•Good communication skills in Arabic & English. |
