| Our client, a Singapore-based company is seeking a topnotch professional for a large development project that includes a Port, a Free Trade Zone, and a Chemical Complex in Lagos, Nigeria.
PORT DIRECTOR
Responsibilities:
• The incumbent will prepare a Project Report for the setting up of the port facilities and create an organization for both project phase and operations phase.
• Direct the smooth operation of the port facilities ensuring safe, competent, and profitable operation of the port.
• Manage the operation of the temporary construction dock for the import of equipment, machinery and construction materials during the project phase.
• Organize for and obtain all the required approvals including the coordination of the port project with relevant Nigerian authorities.
• Ensure that the project is completed within the specified cost, time, and quality requirements.
• Organize and award contracts for port design and construction.
• Oversee the work of the consultants and contractors and ensure proper execution of all operational aspects in port design and construction.
• Ensure and maintain satisfaction of the customers who avail of the port facilities.

| Skills: |
Qualifications:
• University degree in Port/Maritime Management, Business Administration or related field
• Minimum 15 years relevant experience in setting up a port, operation of a port and harbor, with at least 5 years in General Management
• Experience in capital project management is a must.
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of marine facilities and management as well as equipment and technology used in maritime industry.
• Possess strong leadership abilities and commercial acumen; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; preference will be given to candidates with international experience.
