JOB DESCRIPTION: The company accountant is responsible for providing financial analytical and finance support to the director by the day to day timely execution, accuracy and technical correctness of the accounting functions The role of company accountant also involves the preparation and analysis of financial information to help qualified accountants. IT plays a key part within VRC’s finance field therefore hand-on experience with a variety of spreadsheets, databases and specialised accounting software (SAGE) is mandatory. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: A range of financial tasks is undertaken to support the smooth and efficient operation of supply chain processes between VRC’s suppliers and its end customers and typical work activities include: check skills

Skills:

• Processing and paying invoices • Recording receipts and payments • Preparing and checking ledger balances and other monthly and annual accounts • Completing and submitting tax returns • Monitoring company expenses and control cash flow. • Completes tasks within estimated timeframes and in accordance with established schedules; • Analysing financial data to monitor performance and plan improvements such as but not limited to ; o determine why there are discrepancies in financial records o produce accounts receivable month-end reports, comparing the current month to the previous month. o calculate average costs for use in cost projections. • Liaising and negotiating with customers and suppliers finance contacts; • Submits recommendations for process improvements to the HR Manager; • Implement accounting policies and procedures • Performs analysis of generated periodic reports as required and tasked by the HR Manager; • Provides written and oral reports to VRC’s Management as required and approved by the HR Manager. More senior roles in logistics may involve: • Drafting financial reports • Planning and budget control • Helping accountants with audits. • Anything else to the sole discretion of VRC’s management however related with the specific job environment.
