| Working under the direction of the Chief of Information Technology, the Support Engineer will undertake the following tasks in conjunction with other members of C3:
act as main point of contact for technical issues and provide accurate and timely resolutions
establish performance measures and processes to assure high-quality and consistent services to users of UNU
follow the best practices for incident management
assist in the implementation of information security policies
develop user training materials and system documentation
assist in the different phases of IT projects, including improvement of existing systems,procurement coordination, and systems implementation
undertake other duties and specific projects as directed |
| Skills: |
Essential:
BS degree in Computer Science or another relevant field or equivalent experience
Outstanding troubleshooting skills
Solid knowledge of Windows operating desktop environments, TCP/IP networking protocols and general networking concepts, WiFi networking, DNS, and DHCP
Working experience with Active Directory,network print servers, Ghost, and patch management
Experience with network wiring
Strong user orientation and possess an excellent work ethic
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Desirable:
Unix/Linux and Macintosh experience
Firewall and VPN experience
Exchange administration experience
Familiarity with SQL Language
Working knowledge of Web Scripting (Coldfusion, PHP, ASP) |
