| Duties & Responsibilities
General:
Understand and support the mission of the Parkinson Association of the Rockies; display flexibility and accept change; try new methods and make suggestions for improvement; show a strong commitment to the Parkinson Association of the Rockies; convey enthusiasm for the exercise program
Possess the ability to deliver outstanding experiences for participants; build warm and supportive relationships; consistently greet and assist participants positively; strive to provide service that exceeds expectations; respond to concerns and complaints in a way that values individual opinions; initiate response for prompt resolution; look for improvements in service and participant involvement
Provide customer service and represent the organization in a professional and courteous manner; display integrity; genuinely and actively listen; communicate in clear and pleasant manner; embrace differences
Maintain pertinent personnel files and submit time records to organization for payroll purposes
Program:
Plan and provide Parkinson-specific group and/or individualized exercise instruction to program participants
Prepare exercise area for class and report exercise equipment problems to Executive Director
Respond to participant questions and increase participant awareness of all healthy lifestyle factors
Develops positive relationships with participants and provide motivational support and guidance
Inventory high-risk participants in the class and use judgment to assess individual participant limitations
Conduct group & individualized exercise according to program protocol
Provide education for participants in conjunction with exercises to ensure safe and effective workouts
Continuously observe participants during class, giving special attention to high-risk clients
Provide specialized assistance during medical emergencies by responding to and reporting on accidents and incidents
Maintain and report attendance records to Parkinson Association of the Rockies Programs & Services Manager

| Skills: |
Requirements:
Current first aid and CPR certification
Licensed Physical Therapist
Prior experience as a fitness class instructor
Ability to individually lead fitness classes
Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations
Ability to set up, move, and store fitness class equipment
Knowledge of or experience with Parkinsons disease
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Self-motivated, self-directed, responsible, reliable and punctual
