| Dress for Success is seeking an energetic individual to coordinate our Employment Retention Programs. The mission of Dress for Success is to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.
In 1997, Dress for Success acknowledged that low-income women who are entering or reentering the workforce need professional clothing. Since then, our non-profit organization has provided clothing, confidence and career boosts to almost 300,000 women around the world. In New York City alone, the New York Program has provided more than 15,000 women with interview attire.
Overview of the position:
• Coordinate three employment retention programs:
o Professional Women’s Group: A networking association for employed Dress for Success clients
o Career Center: A job search support program for unemployed Dress for Success clients
o Women 2 Women Mentoring Program: 6-month one-on-one mentoring
• Work with Dress for Success clients to determine interest and need for employment retention program services; recruit and retain clients into the three programs.
• Plan and facilitate three monthly professional development and employment retention seminars for Professional Women’s Group members
• Oversee volunteers who will provide career development assistance to DFS clients i.e. résumé, interview and job-search support (Career Center)
• Train mentors and monitor mentoring relationships
• Recruit, screen and train volunteers as speakers for Professional Women’s Group meetings
• Provide monthly updates and written reports on program outcomes
• Directly reports to Manhattan Branch Manager
• Perform other tasks as assigned
Specifics:
• Hours are 9am to 5pm Tuesday through Saturday; One day per week hours are 12pm to 8pm.
• Salary is $31,000-35,000; salary dependent on experience.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required plus two years relevant work experience
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Experience working with volunteers
• Team player with the ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision
• Strong leadership skills
• MS Excel, MS Word, Internet and Email skills are required; MS Access a plus
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to multi-task, be flexible and to work in a fast-paced environment
• Passion for helping women succeed in the workplace
• Public speaking, counseling and/or training experience a plus
