Job Description
Under the direct supervision of the Construction Manager (Civil), the JUNIOR ENGINEER (Civil) performs a variety of professional field and office works applying engineering principles and practices in civil work components of hydropower projects; Ensures that the key deliverables are completed on time and within budget, and to the highest standards possible.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Liaise with the survey engineers and civil designers in the preparation of engineering plans for the civil work components of the projects.
2. Assist in the conduct of desk studies to identify potential hydro projects including gathering supporting data.
3. Participate in field reconnaissance as necessary, to obtain measurements and/or verify site conditions and as-built documentation.
4. Develop engineering drawings that effectively communicate required work to contractors and suppliers.
5. Communicate with design engineers to resolve design discrepancies, if there is any.
6. Ensure accuracy of drawings including dimensions, spelling, drafting standards, and completeness utilizing correct project design data.
7. Perform engineering calculations; prepare technical specifications, construction program and schedules, and documents for contract bids.
8. Gather, prepare, and maintain engineering data, records and reports.
9. Demonstrate and apply technical knowledge of design practices, codes, and standards applicable to civil engineering.
10. Monitor changes on the design and update drawings, as necessary, in close coordination with the engineering designers.
11. Manage document, and follow procedures for engineering management, including quality control, documentation of decisions, and administrative filing and document control.
12. Maintain strict confidentiality of highly restricted detailed engineering drawings.
13. Ensure that culture is aligned with the core values of the company and the community.
14. Ensure that the activities are being carried out in accordance with policies and guidance established including Health, Safety, Environment and Social policies.
15. Perform any other related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time by immediate superior consistent with the purpose of this role.
