POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting into the Financial Shared Services, the successful candidate will be involved in various cross-functional initiatives to enhance effectiveness through alignment of business processes with business strategy. Primary focus will be on Indirect Sourcing strategy, methodology, opportunity identification, execution and savings. In this position, the incumbent will apply skills and expertise in communication of project goals and initiatives, business process re-design, establishment of internal and external business relationships, application of sourcing methodologies, project management and continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will help drive the business process standardization initiative by managing projects from conceptualization through implementation; including analysis, requirements definition, design, and deployment. The preferred candidate will have prior experience in project management and excellent organizational skills.
Specific duties include:
• Participating in strategic Source to Pay or other innovation projects that will create competitive advantage for the organization locally and globally, with specific focus on strategic sourcing initiatives
• Communicating and translating senior management objectives into project scope, requirements and opportunities relating to S2P process areas and supporting departments
• Managing, collaborating and maintaining key business relationships with appropriate contacts throughout the organization.
• Perform category spend analysis, financial modeling for bid analysis and total cost of ownership modeling
• Participate/lead strategic sourcing initiatives through the entire sourcing process by developing comprehensive Requests for Information (RFI), Request for Proposals (RFP), Service Contract and Supply Agreements as required for indirect categories. Conduct negotiations with suppliers as required. Ensure compliance with purchasing policies and procedures, ethical practices, and adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
• Study the market and competitive environment in which the supplier(s) operates to apply industry best practices and sourcing opportunities: business trends, market conditions, supplier cost structure and benchmarks for the supply market in which the supplier(s) operate
• Driving project requirements, priorities and deadlines as well as project planning to ensure project deliverables are met according timelines and budget
• Gathering and evaluating existing processes using interviews, document analysis, surveys, business process descriptions, cases, data sampling, process maps, task and workflow analysis.
• Identifying strengths and areas for process improvement, establishing links between business strategies and improvement initiatives based on Lean and Six Sigma or other relevant methodologies.
• Developing tools to providing metrics that provide data for process measurement, identifying indicators for future improvement opportunities.
• Leading the review and design of key business processes through the use of appropriate process improvement methodologies and tools: Lean, Six Sigma, BPM and value-stream mapping.
• Using experience and thorough understanding of broad professional concepts and techniques to resolve complex issues.
• Surveying and analyzing best practices for techniques and processes.
• Facilitating the planning, implementation and rollout of business process and/or system initiatives.
• Supporting the achievement of overall Department and Business goals.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
• Professional experience in either a strategic sourcing, purchasing, or vendor relationship management function involving increasing levels of responsibility and independent action with regard to process and management of personnel
• Strong negotiation skills, including contract pricing, terms, and conditions
• Excellent relationship management skills: listening, diplomacy, patience and negotiation
• Demonstrated ability to partner with cross functional groups to successfully manage project deliverables
• Experience and knowledge of accounts payable and other financial processes considered an asset.
• Experience in leading mid to large scale transformations of complex business processes resulting in significant and sustainable results.
• Experience with developing and reviewing process methodology and tools.
• Exceptional analytical at both strategic and functional levels.
• Demonstrated ability in providing supervisory skills to junior team members including providing input into select people issues, developing knowledge and transferring it to others, supporting coaching, training, assessment initiatives.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams of subject matter experts through all phases of process redesign (mobilization, current state assessment, customer assessment, best practices, future state visioning/strategy, blueprinting, implementation and metrics development).
• Supports the formulation of end results on important/difficult technical/functional issues.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of the organization.
• Proven ability to lead and work through others without direct reporting relationship to achieve business goals utilizing persuasion and influencing skills.
• Significant experience designing workshops, facilitating group sessions and work with teams and gain crucial input from key contributors.
• Self-motivated individual with excellent business acumen.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt is desirable.
• Advanced knowledge of Word and Excel and proficiency in PowerPoint and Microsoft Visio required.
