Position Description
STP Technology Senior Quality Assurance Engineer Position Description: This is an FID MarketBus team is looking for a developer to take on responsibilities in enhancing the MarketBus platform. MarketBus is FID proprietary technology developed to represent market data of arbitrary complexity, and provide means of storing and versioning of market data. The system includes a set of generic core Java classes designed specifically for this task, as well as a database repository to allow market data persistence and caching. MarketBus core technology is currently used in four "vertical" MarketBus installations in FID IT. We are looking for a person to be responsible for the core code base. While being part of the cross-FID MarketBus team (FID MarketBus), you will be dealing with several trading system teams currently using MarketBus technology. This is a rare opportunity to be exposed to the whole breadth and depth of Fixed Income market data and, potentially, risk calculations and beyond. The developer will be responsible for collecting requirements, design, coding, implementation, and rollouts, while coordinating with the federated and vertical teams. The role requires solving challenging design problems, ability to learn complex software and business concepts, and ability to interact with multiple teams. We are looking for a person interested in learning and succeeding in a fast growing, complex, and very interesting front office environment. We are a tight and friendly team, focused on providing solutions that span all of Fixed Income. The FID MarketBus team is part of a larger FID Risk umbrella (FID Risk-1 / FLOW / FID MarketBus). Working on MarketBus, you will also have an opportunity to learn and get involved in areas of cross-divisional Fixed Income risk.
Skills Required
3-5 years of distributed software development Very strong Java, OO, XML, multi-threading, and software performance Strong understanding of distributed architecture Clear communication Ability to be focused and organized Some experience with database concepts and development (Sybase) Ability to work in a team, as well as alone.
Skills Desired
· Fixed Income knowledge a plus, but not required.
