Job Description :
QA Analyst (Mainframe)
This position is responsible for reviewing, preparing QA/UAT environment for preproduction releases requested by the applications. Incumbents must administer all aspects of QA testing process through the use of the scheduling tool as well as other testing tools such as Test Director and Quick Test Pro to capture test results and test evidence. This position must ensure all scheduled UAT tests meet required and documented standards, and must enforce all current policies and utilize all established “best practices”. The incumbent must be versed in the practical uses of the software and must be knowledgeable of all processes and procedures utilized within the quality assurance area.
The QA Analyst must effectively communicate with a wide range of colleagues and clients, and must be a skilled listener and negotiator who can translate management’s direction into practical/tactical actions. Incumbents must demonstrate that they are energetic, persuasive and persistent while remaining tactful. Applicants must demonstrate they are articulate and have the ability to describe and explain issues and processes to clients. They must maintain the highest level of professionalism during interactions with clients. They must maintain the highest level of professionalism during interactions with clients, management, and other Data Center support organizations. The incumbent is required to have expert knowledge of all uses of mainframe tools for databases & procedures lookup. The incumbent will be expected to represent the QA Testing Services in technical, service, or process related meetings and must possess a well-rounded understanding of complex mainframe environments. Applicant must be organized and thoughtful in their approach toward resolving outstanding issues and production related problems. The individual must strive to quickly understand projects in details and possess strong analytical skills.
Requirements:
Required technical skills include:
• Expert knowledge in JCL, Batch procedures, Endevor and CICS environments.
• Strong and experienced skill sets involving TWS/OPC, IBM utilities, online (CICS) processes, Shadow/MQ processes, DB2 processes, 3270 emulation software, Windows XP workstation, Internet Explorer or equivalent, Microsoft Office suite, REMEDY v7, TSO/ISPF, VSAM, and CAFC.
• Significant experience in utilizing the Endevor change management product with regard to creating, reviewing, approving packages and batch jobs is mandatory.
• Minimum 5 years experience supporting large-scale compute environments with focus on mainframe based skills.
• Must be knowledgeable in the structure of PDS/PDSE and system libraries and be disciplined in process improvement strategies.
