| Teach in the east of southwest China, Chongqing.
The program which includes reading, writing, oral communication, pronunciation, grammar plus Canadian and Western Culture courses runs from late August until early July. There is a one week holiday in October (National Holiday])and a four week holiday in February (Spring Festival).
The academic load includes 18 hours contact time plus weekly English Corner (one hour) with the students and a weekly staff meeting. Class preparations may be done in teachers’ offices or in teachers’ apartments. Teaching staff have significant support regarding technology (computers, PowerPoint and internet technology, DVD and audio-technology), a prescriptive curriculum that allows for creativity, and collegial cooperation plus good support materials, texts etc. Classes are usually taught in the daytime, Monday to Friday.
