ROLE DESCRIPTION The Director actively realizes business success through execution of strategic technology solutions. This involves fiscal governance, technology execution (development, support, maintenance, and implementation), and compliance of all projects related to the business success. The Director achieves these through coordination with lower-level department managers, business stakeholders, and broader technology units. LEVEL DIFFERENTIATIONS  Scope of work includes a number of systems.  Sets direction and strategy for following 5 to 6 years.  Initiates and manages organization-wide and cross-business unit programs.  Consults management on long- and short-range business requirements and recommends innovations in order to anticipate the direction of both the business and technology.  Defines the vision for the product(s)/service(s), acquiring and quantifying client requirements, developing and maintaining the business case, and managing client expectations.  Manages P&L of technology units PERFORMANCE STANDARDS AND MEASUREMENTS  Clearly articulates business expectations across the various levels.  Responds to business priorities effectively by developing functional specifications.  Delivers business value through increased return on investment and positive assessments of project results.  Demonstrates operational excellence through BSC/KPIs and positive customer satisfaction surveys.  Demonstrates ability to integrate and partner with the business function through being personally accepted by business management.  Achieves agreed-upon targets in terms of quality, time, cost, and customer satisfaction.  Achieves service levels corresponding to industry best practice (price/performance, etc.).  Effectively sets direction and strategy for current and following year. OTHER REQUIREMENTS  Bachelor degree in Engineering or Computer Science required.  Requires general management/administrative skills to manage operational centers.  Speaks the user’s language, has knowledge of the business area, and is responsible for the successful delivery and maintenance of the project(s)/service(s) under management.  Does not need to have developer skills, but should have a strong understanding of the technology and its potential for the target audience.  Has an extremely strong understanding and experience in the Financial Services business especially related to Capital Markets
Skills: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES  Leverages knowledge of major segments in the organization and several disciplines to resolve critical issues impacting organization direction and results.  Provides systems design, development, implementation, and maintenance across multiple platforms (multi-tiers) meeting product specifications as well as the business needs of the firm and/or business units in a timely and cost-efficient manner.  Defines and influences complex product or projects, often global in scope.  Manages high-level communications across the levels of the business and across functions on areas like business projections, costs, contract negotiations, and product positioning.  Executes with strategic planning and best practices.  Sets, manages and controls departmental finances and budgets  Establishes, monitors and enforces human resource, finance and business policies and practices  Ensures that employees have clear assignments, measurable goals and tracks individual and team performance  Hires, develops and rewards direct reports based on meritocracy  Monitors and takes action to mitigate operational, reputational and financial risk  Creates, leads and monitors organization objectives and plans ensuring effective delivery  Supports employees in their professional development  Promotes an empowering work environment that embraces diversity and inspires employees to apply their total attention and talent to our mission  Creates a work environment that is a crucible for applied commercial innovation
