Westat's research, technical, and administrative staff of more than 1,900 is located at our headquarters in Rockville, Maryland, near Washington, DC. Depending on the number of active projects at any time, up to several thousand data collection and processing staff work at Westat's survey processing facilities, at our Telephone Research Center facilities, and at data collection sites throughout the nation. Westat also maintains research offices near our clients in Bethesda, Maryland; Raleigh, North Carolina; Atlanta, Georgia; and Houston, Texas.
Demonstrating technical and managerial excellence since 1961, Westat has emerged as one of the foremost contract research organizations in the United States.
Westat seeks an individual to serve as a senior technical and subject matter expert in the areas of cancer epidemiology and related research methodologies. Position responsibilities include participating in the design, management, and operation of state and federally funded health-related research projects, as well as the planning and instructional training for various research study teams. Applicants must have strong technical writing and effective oral communication skills, and have past experience working with principal research investigators and other senior research staff to interpret study data. Knowledge of the clinical aspects of cancer and strong organizational skills are required. Leadership positions in professional associations such as NAACCR are a plus. The qualified applicant must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in epidemiology and public health research and management in a health research environment. An advanced degree in epidemiology, public health, health information management, or a related field is essential. CTR certification is highly desirable.
