Westat's research, technical, and administrative staff of more than 1,900 is located at our headquarters in Rockville, Maryland, near Washington, DC. Depending on the number of active projects at any time, up to several thousand data collection and processing staff work at Westat's survey processing facilities, at our Telephone Research Center facilities, and at data collection sites throughout the nation. Westat also maintains research offices near our clients in Bethesda, Maryland; Raleigh, North Carolina; Atlanta, Georgia; and Houston, Texas.

Westat seeks an experienced pediatric epidemiologist to participate in multiple aspects of the Coordinating Center for the National Children’s Study (NCS). This position requires an M.D. in pediatrics, ideally combined with a master’s degree in public health or an advanced degree in epidemiology. We are particularly interested in researchers with a minimum of 10 years’ of postdegree experience in increasingly responsible positions that includes an in-depth background with population-based pediatric research. A background of achievement in an academic or research organization is preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and a commitment to effectively collaborate with others are essential. Past experience in protocol development for epidemiologic studies of children and a track record of scientific publications and presentations are required. This is a full-time position; however, accommodation can be made to allow for continuation of clinical practice or teaching.
